Delicious dates from Iran…
Today I had such a great day at work. I met this really genuine Turkish couple from London, and we had a very stimulating mini conversation, just about travel and different life styles around the globe, I always enjoy chatting to ethnic Londoners. The couple came from the more predominant Middle Eastern part of London, I wish I had more time on my schedule to talk to them, because they were so interesting, not only interesting, but very cultured and refined. Today I met so many nice people, actually, just on that note… another couple gave me a really big tip! I’m not going to mention so, but, it was a really nice tip, in any other restaurant, surely it would make the other waiters/waitresses jealous to extents non describable.
Since I had such a great day, I decided I’d treat my self to one of my favorite delicacies.
Fresh dates! Now, contrary to many peoples ideas about dates, they are, actually very very delicious.
I lived on them when I was young, eventually I couldn’t stand them anymore, but now, I get in a frenzy just at the mere sight of them.
Dried dates are okay, but my personal favorite is FRESH dates, simply delicious they are.
Isn’t the packaging of my fresh dates really nice? I think so.
The box it’s self is a delight on it’s very own.
Nice isn’t it? Actually, the dates aren’t too bad when it comes to price either, one box only costs about $10.00 NZD or $6.00 NZD, which is quite reasonable, but, whatever the price, these dates are worth the money I think. It still doesn’t beat MARKET fresh dates, but considering they have to be shipped all the way from Iran, they’re real good! I don’t mean just the price, but the quality.
See just how good they look? They really are delicious! The thing that is so tasteful about them is their juicy textures and aroma’s! Dates have this strange smell that nothing else has… it’s almost dusty or musky smelling? Also, these dates are so fresh, their skin is still like a protective shell, so when you bite into one the flavorful inside just melts! Oh, so good!
I have now run my self a spa bath and I am taking my box with me, I am going to relax for a few hours before I go to bed as I am worn out. The time difference at the moment is dragging me along! Anyway, my “Box” of Iranian dates awaits my pleasure, so I am going now.
